The land chosen by Ritz-Carlton was a large parcel which is adjacent to Jack Nicklaus’ famed Bear’s Club. Here as well, Jack designed the course – his first for the Ritz brand. The signature course is an 18-hole, 72 par course set out over 7,000 yards.

In 2006 the course was certified by the Audubon Society as an environmentally friendly habitat. The large nature preserve from which the course is carved is alive with wildlife, including a bald eagle. The course uses grass specifically developed for the local climate which means the course is always in tournament condition.
